Why a man of his caliber ever played a song like Tears in Heaven (or an acoustic guitar for that matter) is beyond me. Here’s Eric Clapton covering an Otis Rush 1957 single, “Groaning the Blues”.

here’s a video of SRV and Albert King playing the Matchbox blues. not much needs to be said, just listen.
…here’s another video of this guitar kid Quinn. The pre-pubescent voice gave it a new twist, but somehow this 11 year old kid sang the blues… didn’t even know it was possible.
So I went to a BB King/Buddy Guy concert this past sunday and it was in fact so funky you could smell it. No, but seriously. There were so many old people there, no one can tell me that old people don’t have a certain smell to them. anyway, one of the crazy things I witnessed while at the concert was the work of this little prodigy Quinn Sullivan. This kid is 11 years old and he’s been playing with Buddy Guy since he was 8 or so. He’s crazy good. could keep up with Guy the whole time. I’ve never seen anything like it.
here’s a great video of the prodigy from when he was 8 (yes, 8 ) and Guy. Its worth it to watch the whole thing through. trust me.
Here’s another good one by the great Otis Redding, “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long”… been making girls cry/fall to their knees since 1960. Unfortunately, Otis was killed in a plane crash in 1967 at 26 years old, blessing the world with his beautiful singing for just 7 years. Thanks to youtube we can watch him do what he did best alll day.
it’s been awhile since I’ve had the time to post new music, but it was worth the wait. trust me.
here’s Otis Redding with “Try a Little Tenderness”.
Once again, he sings like he’s seen it. maybe he has, I don’t know, but he sure is amazing.
what is a collection of great music without The Allman Brothers?
this video is worth the pointless few seconds in the beginning. Etta James is good. She is, but I think Beyonce took this song from her.
Another great pianist, Gene Harris, playing with the Ray Brown Trio. Try to count the genres you hear in the song. I dare you.
